The Dan Mills library houses approximately 11,000 books, including fiction, nonfiction and reference, as well as DVDs and Playaways. We also have 26 computers with internet access available for use by classes as well as individual students. Our library operates on a flexible schedule. Students may come in at any time with their teacher's permission. Our circulation policy allows students to check out three items at a time (kindergarten students may check out one item), keeping them for two weeks at a time. Please see our library policies for more information.
The library is open 8:00 to 2:45 daily.
Sloan Criswell is starting her sixth year as the librarian at Dan Mills Elementary School. Before becoming a librarian, she taught third grade. Mrs. Criswell is a native Nashvillian, graduating from Hillwood High School. She has a bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a master's degree in Library Science from Trevecca Nazarene University.
In her spare time, Mrs. Criswell loves to read, watch football (GO TITANS!) and go camping with her family.
